Hello my darlings!

I thought it was time for a good catch up about what’s happening here at Craftopia. Summer is here although we’re still having quite a lot of rain…but that’s what keeps the Yorkshire Dales looking so green and beautiful all the time. It does mean i haven’t done a lot of river swimming as it’s a bit frisky after all the rain. And I’m a beginner so I’m extra cautious. The tourist trade is coming back to life and our little shop is busy again which is lovely! Julie is manning (womanning) the shop while I’m packing and listing things for our online shop. It’s so good to hear that bell ringing again.

We had a fantastic delivery from Odile Bailloeul, in Paris,  the other day and I’ve listed everything on the website. It’s so hard to do justice to her stunning kits, in words or photos. Needless to say Julie and I want to keep one of
Odile’s kits cover a wide range of budgets, from sweet little needle cases to backpacks and everything in between. The instructions are in French/English but mainly pictorial, so manageable for every one.

Another delivery which was massively exciting was a box of the most fabulous crochet hooks ever! They are hand carved and painted by Lianne Van Dam in the Netherlands. I absolutely love them and feel that they may actually have magical properties. I’m using one to make Lady Baabaa a new coat and they are gorgeous to work with. I’m using lovely Adinda of https://www.adindasworld.com latest book to base the pattern on. I’ll show you when I’m finished.

You can find all these goodies in our online shop.

Our other exciting news is that Eleonora of https://www.coastalcrochet.com and I are planning her next visit to Ingleton to host one of her amazing workshops. We’re thinking of November so watch this space. She has new projects to share with us. Her workshops last year were sold out so I’ll see if I can persuade her to maybe do two while she’s here!

So my loves, I hope you’re all thriving.

Speak soon,

love,

Amanda and Julie xxxx
