The first thing I want to tell you about is our Craftopia Knitathon, in memory of my darling daughter Jenny. We will be having a day of knitting /crocheting together at Craftopia on the Saturday 23rd May, to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. https://www.thebraintumourcharity.org/ All you need to do is download the sponsor form attached and ask your friends and family if they will sponsor you for every hour that you spend knitting or crocheting with us.

Sponsor Form

We’ll be making very simple strips which I will sew together to make a blanket (blankets) for our nearest homeless charity, the Lancaster and District Homeless Service. https://www.ldhas.org.uk/

It doesn’t matter if you aren’t an experienced knitter or crocheter…. We will be offering help with casting on and there will be more experienced crafters here to help.

We’re hoping for a sunny day so that we can sit outside in the warmth. You’ll be able to buy refreshments throughout the day or you can bring a packed lunch with you. We’ll have a 10-minute break every hour so that you can stretch your legs etc.

All you need to do is turn up with some yarn and your hooks or needles. We will be working with acrylic DK, just to have some uniformity in the blanket. If you don’t have any yarn I’ll be donating all the opened balls of suitable yarn that I have and if that runs out you can purchase some from the shop.

Even if you can only spare an hour, please feel free to join us. All help is welcome. I’ll keep you up to date with the latest news about this event as it comes closer.
